Miscellaneous hints that probably don't need to be in the basic help file:
- You can look at the previous versions of topic pages by clicking the links at the bottom that look like 1.2 > 1.1, etc. Each number represents a specific version of the topic; clicking the arrow between two versions will show you a detailed view of the differences between the two. You will see what has been added, changed, and/or deleted.
- If you want to be notified of changes, go to the main page of a web (i.e. the Academic home page, Main home page, etc.) and click ont he WebNotify topic. Edit that topic and add your name to the list of people to be notified. (Oops, that isn't working yet... trying to debug it.)
- To save changes to a topic without alerting anyone who has asked to be notified, use the QuietSave button or check the box that says "Minor changes, don't notify". This is intended only for when you make tiny edits, such as typo fixes, that don't significantly change the content of the topic page.
- I'm still trying to figure out what the Checkpoint button does. I know it saves the page but returns you to the edit window and keeps the topic locked. I can't tell if that is all, though. I'm not sure what good it does, either.
