Personal Growth Statement
After being at Western for only two months I am still getting use to it and learning new things. Everyone is very friendly and I have had fun meeting new people in my classes. I enjoy the classroom style better than high school even though you really have to be motivated in college since the teachers don’t care as much as they did in high school. I enjoy watching the usual shows, like Laguna beach and real world, with my friends. My homework load hasn’t been too bad, but I am starting to learn that procrastination can be very stressful and make things harder than they would be if I just worked on it a day at a time. I enjoy my classes and all my teachers. All of them are very nice and helpful, which helps making the transition a little easier. I am realizing how different college is from high school and that you really need to be motivated to succeed in college. I think as long as I stay focused and keep my priorities in line I will do fine in college. I am looking forward to finishing my year at Western Oregon and I am hoping by the time this year is done I will know what I would like to do with the rest of my life. After that I will decide whether I will stay here or go somewhere else to finish off my college career. I am hoping to grow more outgoing and meet lots of new friends.
