Headline:

China, Vietnam Report More Bird Flu Outbreaks

About:

It has recently been discovered that birds that are infected with avian flu also hold the antibodies. So in Japan they are taking in over 180,000 infected birds to start doing tests. This discovery has come to late for about 60 Asian people that have already passed away. It is now confirmed that bird flu can be passed from bird to human, but not from person to person.

This flu is not only affecting humans, but it is also affecting the flu carriers, the birds. In Liaoning, China they have been unable to contain bird flu, and over 9,000 chickens have died, not including 370,000 domestic birds. However good news may be on it’s way. This coming Monday health and veterinary officials will meet in Geneva to discuss the containment of avian flu.

Thoughts:

Now that avian flu is spreading even more rapidly from bird to bird, it seems that a pandemic is not far from sight. Scientists fear that migratory birds will cause this flu to spread, not just in the east, but also all over the world. People think that it isn’t their problem until it reaches them, but by that time it is almost to late. It is now known that avian flu can spread to humans, and if infected birds surround the world, what is going to stop the disease from spreading?

I have read many articles on bird flu, and as of now I am running out of ideas on how to stop this possible pandemic. It should send a world wide panic when it reaches Africa, because after that there is no stopping it. On Monday government officials will debate over the plan of action that is going to be taken, I just hope that it is not to late. In my opinion every attempt to recover a misfortune has taken to long.
