Blackberry

The Blackberry is a wireless machine used by people to communicate with each other (i.e. email) anytime, anywhere. Developed by a Canadian company called Research In Motion (RIM), the Blackberry delivers information over wireless data networks via mobile phone service companies. Like advertised, this four-in-one mobile technology offers the freedom, connectivity and services of a phone, email device, web browser and organizer. All Blackberry models offer an intuitive menu system, familiar QWERTY-style keyboard, and easy-to-read displays which make it an essential stay-in-touch communication tool.

You can see the Blackberry 7250 in the pictures below. This model offered tethering capability, allowing connection of the Blackberry to a laptop for use as a high speed internet connection. With the Blackberry Internet Service, you can check your email and browse the web on your Blackberry device. You get automatic “push” delivery of messages, integration with up to ten supported work and personal email accounts and convenient access to HTML and WAP web pages.You can manage your email, including creating address book entries and filing messages, from your Blackberry device or from most Internet-enabled PCs with the Blackberry Internet Service web site. Each Blackberry device also comes with a stand alone email address that acts as the default email address for the Blackberry Internet Service.

Though, blackberry has so many strongpoint but it also exsists problems. A musculoskeletal disorder has arisen from repeated blackberry use. Dubbed blackberry Thumb, it causes pain and tenderness in the thumbs to a point where people have problems using them, thus minimizing dexterity. And, a non-physical problem is the constant attachment to email. Most users get blackberry devices in order to increase their productivity, but they tend to encourage multi-tasking which can make it difficult for users to concentrate on other tasks when out of the office.
