Group # 2's Acceptable Use Document
The
purpose of this document is to encourage responsible computer and Internet use. There is an obligation for individuals using the computing resources to show respect by following the policy.
- Safety First:
- Do not enter or store your personal information on computers
- Never meet with someone you met on the Internet without approval
- Tell officials about inappropriate messages and content
- Protect your password if applicable
- Do not use anyone else's passwords
- Appropriate Behavior:
- Respect others (Harassment, belittlement, or intentional embarrassment of others will NOT be tolarated)
- Computers are for educational use only
- Refrain from using obscene, profane language
- Tell officials about computer problems as soon as they occur; do not try to solve them yourself
- Legal Issues: Prohibited behaviors include...
- Hacking
- Disrupting the use of the school's computers
- Using computer for illegal acts including drug sales, threats of violence, destruction of property, and harassment
- Accessing confidential information
- Inappropriate material:
- The school district will maintain an appropriate content filter
- Do not use the computer to access or distribute profane or obscene materials
- Copyrights:
- Understand and respect copyright laws
- Do NOT plagiarize (give credit for other people's ideas and work)
- Do not use district computers to download or reproduce copyrighted materials including music, movies, games, and pictures
Violations of this policy will lead to disciplinary action. If there is reasonable suspicion of misuse, investigations into behavior will occur. Students who violate the policy may be denied use of the district's computers for a period of time or permanently. Serious violations, including harassment and copyright infringement, may result in additional disciplinary action according to school and district policies.
I read and understand the above Acceptable Use Policy of the district's computers. I understand that if I do not
comply with the policy, I may face discipline including not being able to use school computers.

I discussed the above Acceptable Use Policy of the District's computers with my child. I emphasized to my child
the importance of personal safety and the need to inform an adult if an inappropriate situation occurs.
I understand the district is not liable for loss of data, interruption of service or any financial obligations
arising from my child’s unauthorized use of the system. I also understand I may be held financially responsible
for any harm to the system resulting from intentional misuse by my child.
