Below are three different classification lists for music. The first one is very simple. The next 2 are library of congress listings. My vote would be to go for the expanded version. With computers we only have to type things in once and then we have them. Then everything is there even if we don't need it this minute. Comments? We can talk about implementation after we decide which list we want. Joan

Adam's Retort

The LC list is really the way to go. I think we can trim it down in some places (like the listings by instrument can be shorter) and expand it in others (like Jazz, being that this school is supposed to specialize in "popular music"). The break between Religous and Secular vocal music is going to be very helpful. I really want to talk with the new prof. before we do anything drastic, I'll call Karen and see whats up with that. As for Keller, he won't be in the state until next month.
